Job Description

ASUTA is seeking a qualified Data Officer (DO) to support its HIV prevention program. The DO will be based at the project field offices and play a crucial role in ensuring accurate data collection, entry, and management across various program databases, including DHIS2, InfoLink, and DATIM. This position will work under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to ensure that all program data is effectively collected, stored, and reported, contributing to the successful monitoring and evaluation of the program.

Specific duties include:

  • Accurately enter HTS testing, PrEP, STI, TB, GBV, and HIVST data into program databases such as DHIS2, InfoLink, and Quarterly through DATIM in a timely manner.
  • Ensure M&E tools are ordered, received, and distributed to health facilities and peer educators in line with program requirements.
  • Collect, document, and store all used M&E tools at the organization’s office, maintaining proper tracking systems.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly support to healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate submission of HTS and KVP reports.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to analyze and validate data, identifying inconsistencies or errors.
  • Share daily performance data with the field staff team, offering regular updates on program indicators, trends, and achievements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to peer educators, healthcare providers, and staff on the use of data collection tools and reporting protocols.
  • Conduct data verification visits to health facilities to validate source data against reported data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Update and maintain the program databases with the latest data inputs, ensuring data integrity and completeness.
  • Assist in developing and improving data management systems and processes, making recommendations for enhancing data collection, entry, and reporting procedures.
  • Support the preparation of program reports, presentations, and data visualizations to effectively communicate program performance and impact.
  • Adhere to confidentiality and data security protocols, ensuring the protection of sensitive information.
  • Participate in capacity-building activities to improve data management skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational data management policies and relevant data protection regulations.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration with project stakeholders, including health facility staff and partner organizations, to ensure smooth data flow and information sharing.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum requirement: Diploma in Public Health, Statistics, Information
  • Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • At least 3 years experience in HIV prevention programs targeting high-risk and vulnerable populations.
  • Previous experience working in USAID/PEPFAR-supported HIV prevention programs is highly desirable.
